Liberty Has Leapt Across the Big Pond

Daniel Hannan, the European Parliament member who is fighting against socialism in England, had announced a Tea Party event in Brighton for Saturday, the 27th. Daniel Hannan has released a statement about the success of the event.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Brighton Tea Party, and apologies to those who couldn’t get it. We opened and filled an adjoining room, but it was still quite a squash. The hotel manager told me afterwards that there had been more than 300 people present, not counting those who had had to be turned away.

If you can run a tea-party in Brighton Pavilion – the constituency which the Greens are most hopeful of winning – you can run one anywhere. You don’t have to be a small-government Conservative to feel that taxation, spending and borrowing are currently too high.

Let me say it one more time. Gordon Brown has doubled the national debt. Every second, it rises by another 5,000 pounds. Our deficit is 12.6 per cent of GDP compared to Greece’s 12.7. All this despite theadditional trillion pounds taken in taxation since 1997.

We can’t afford another month of this, let alone another five years.

Thanks to the Freedom Association for helping to put everything together, and warm thanks to James and Laragh from my office for coming to Brighton to help.

I take pride in the fact that our fight for freedom has leapt across the "big pond" onto the shores of merry ol' England.

Palin Isn't Good For The GOP

Let's all face facts, even, you, the Palin apologizer (the Katie Couric interview was down right terrible)--Sarah Palin isn't good news for the GOP.

If you have failed to remember, the GOP hierarchy pissed off the American people just in time for the 2006 and 2008 elections. They spent, acted, and were no different than Democrats. Under the watch of Bush and Delay, the federal government ballooned in size. In my own estimations the GOP was at death's door because it departed from core conservative principles.

There was very little that could be done to regain the trust of the American people--because the Republicans didn't deserve our trust.

As the '08 elections took place, a movement began to rise largely because of the enthusiasm behind Palin. Whether you're a fan or not, she created an enthusiasm behind a campaign and a candidate that was deader than a door nail. Yes, we can argue about semantics of the Tea Party, but I doubt it would be where it is today without her.

America now has the ability to stop people from moving over to the Democratic leftist ideas that would doom America to socialism. America now has the ability to affectively create a transparent government because  of the fact that Palin and the Tea Party movement have shoved their way onto the political scene.

However, no matter how good this is for America and conservative beliefs, it is not something the GOP is thrilled about. It is imperative that we remember--many of the current GOP senators and congressmen are the same people who sold us down the river just a few years back.

The Tea Party movement should not stop at Democrats. It has to pursue anyone, R, I, or D, who seeks to abandon liberty for tyranny. I believe Palin will go after those within her own party just as she did in Alaska. She might not be right for the presidency in 2012. She may not ever hold public office again, but she will be a voice for the conservative base. This is the very reason I believe Palin isn't good for the current GOP.

Scott Brown Wins--The Grassroots Rise!

It is in times like these that the excitement is unbelievable. It is in these times that your hope and faith is restored in the American individual. The victory that took place in Massachusetts is the biggest Republican win since W. in 2000. The American people have sent a shockwave through the Democratic held House and Senate by ripping the iconic Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy for nearly forty-seven years away from a political party that has become increasingly tyrannical. The vote that has taken place will reverberate with every Democrat who holds a seat in a toss-up state. This victory has changed the history of our nation--and might spell the death of socialized healthcare.

The upset is major factor for several reasons. First and foremost, it must be understood that this was an entrenched blue state. Obama won Massachusetts by twenty-six percentage points in the 2008 presidential election. In November, Scott Brown was down by more than thirty points. This is a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans three-to-one. I might add, this win isn't because the Democrats didn't try. Martha Coakley had Obama, Clinton, and the Kennedy clan on the campaign stump. I guess the American people were unpersuaded by what "hope" and "change" had brought.

I think this speaks much more to our current political climate rather than of the greatness of Brown as a model candidate. He is a lightweight when it comes to being socially conservative. Scott also posed nude in Cosmopolitan in his early years. Disregarding these qualms about Brown being a poor conservative, the grassroots behind him ran a great campaign and propelled him into victory. There is a simple way in which you can follow the grassroots' championing of Brown as a candidate--his bank account. In the last week and a half, I believe, he raised one million dollars a day. That amount is staggering and almost unbelievable and I am positive this will continue throughout 2010.

Moreover, the election speaks much to the slow decline of RNC involvement in state campaigns. Subsequent to the RNC's squandering 900,00 on Dee Dee Scozzafava in NY's 23rd congressional district race, the Republican grassroots decided to donate directly to candidates (well at least I did) instead of giving to the party. I think it was apparent that the RNC chose to view this race from a distance. There were no big speeches by the Republican hierarchy. They slowly and quietly contributed $500,000 over the last few weeks of campaigning. The torn relationship between the RNC and the conservative grassroots might heal in time for a strong unified 2012 presidential run, but in the mean time the GOP will have a "streamlined" bank account. I sure hope they use the money they do get wisely.

At this moment in time we will celebrate the election of Scott Brown! And toast to the hopeful death of socialized medicine.

The American Resurgence

Throughout the first half of the last decade the American people gave Republicans power--but the Republicans walked from the conservative beliefs that the American people voted for.

In 2006 the American people ripped the purse strings from the hands of the Republicans and handed them over to the Democrats. The Democrats started a spending spree of biblical proportions. However, it paled in comparison to the spending we saw since electing Obama in '08. Now, the American people have wised up to the tyranny liberals have provided. It is time for an American resurgence.

Glen Beck needs to shut up about a 3rd party!

I have a few thoughts for Glen Beck and everyone who has the deranged belief that a third party candidate is the way to go. Those who adhere to this line of thought will be responsible for postponing the Conservative ascendency. I understand and feel the unrest within the conservative base which continues to grow daily.  I want you to hear me out here, we need to do everything within our power to block liberal-lites, i.e. McCain and Graham, from office and propel those like Palin into victory. There are some out there who believe that a third party candidate is the best way to ensure conservative victory, some believe it is the only way to go about this, and in some cases like the race in the NY - 23rd it is, but overall it is not the answer and will be detrimental to the cause of conservatism. We sent a message to the GOP establishment with the race in New York and they, I believe, are willing to listen. They have paused to heed the conservative line of thought, the same thoughts, ideas, beliefs that got them elected, and the same thoughts, ideas, and beliefs that will save this country from the grip of socialism.

The reason I speak to you and such a fined line tone is there are whispers in the Republican party of a third party candidate for 2012. A third party candidate will not win in America, as of now, for a few reasons chief among them is funding. The Republican and Democratic parties have had decades of organizing and gathering donations and it is inconceivable for a third party to organize within the time-line we have. America is prone to voting on perception by this I mean when a party is in power and things are not going well they vote for the other party, these same voters are not open to voting for third party candidates, we know this as fact from past races. As of now, and I believe going into 2012 fifty precent or more of the Republican party does not believe a third party candidate can win (I am among them), and will not vote for one, even if there is a better conservative running as a third party candidate they believe it is morally superior to do your utmost to block those who would seek to destroy life, eliminate freedom, and enslave future generations than send a message to the two party system.

There is a solution it is that we must work within the party and send our messages through smaller elections like the NY 23rd where the consequence of loss are not as great. If you adhere to the idea that the party is not listening and will not change, my friends, I am glad to say you are wrong. The party leaders are now noticing the base's rebellion, they hear the thundering sounds of discontent within the party, and they are nervous. The actions of Michael Steel and the apologies from the NRSC about getting involved is proof that they know a fracture is impending and they will do anything to hold back the flood-gates of angry constituents. We must stay up in arms, we must continue the tea-parties, 9/12 projects, and we cannot let up when the Republicans have the majority. Our outrage cannot stop because there will be those who will fall into the grip of socialist thinking within the Republican party and we need to be there to stop them. Our cause is not to fight for the Republicans to have power. Our cause is to defend freedom, liberty, and the American way of life.

Can we trust the gov with our health?

I don't think so.
