Palin Isn't Good For The GOP

Let's all face facts, even, you, the Palin apologizer (the Katie Couric interview was down right terrible)--Sarah Palin isn't good news for the GOP.

If you have failed to remember, the GOP hierarchy pissed off the American people just in time for the 2006 and 2008 elections. They spent, acted, and were no different than Democrats. Under the watch of Bush and Delay, the federal government ballooned in size. In my own estimations the GOP was at death's door because it departed from core conservative principles.

There was very little that could be done to regain the trust of the American people--because the Republicans didn't deserve our trust.

As the '08 elections took place, a movement began to rise largely because of the enthusiasm behind Palin. Whether you're a fan or not, she created an enthusiasm behind a campaign and a candidate that was deader than a door nail. Yes, we can argue about semantics of the Tea Party, but I doubt it would be where it is today without her.

America now has the ability to stop people from moving over to the Democratic leftist ideas that would doom America to socialism. America now has the ability to affectively create a transparent government because  of the fact that Palin and the Tea Party movement have shoved their way onto the political scene.

However, no matter how good this is for America and conservative beliefs, it is not something the GOP is thrilled about. It is imperative that we remember--many of the current GOP senators and congressmen are the same people who sold us down the river just a few years back.

The Tea Party movement should not stop at Democrats. It has to pursue anyone, R, I, or D, who seeks to abandon liberty for tyranny. I believe Palin will go after those within her own party just as she did in Alaska. She might not be right for the presidency in 2012. She may not ever hold public office again, but she will be a voice for the conservative base. This is the very reason I believe Palin isn't good for the current GOP.

A Tale Of Gas Gods' and Magic Mortgage Mages

Throughout the 2008 election cycle we saw men and women praise Obama to the extreme. They touted that their "gas tanks would be filled" and their "mortgages paid." This weird belief of fairytale gas gods and magic mortgage mages was idiotic at best. However, on some level Obama began to believe the hyperbole the American people were throwing his way. The press didn't touch him, his followers loved him, and it's safe to assume that B. Hussein Obama hasn't suffered from lack of confidence.

His beliefs in himself have carried over to the presidency. If you want proof of his arrogance, look no further than his actions and tone. It might be the fact that he has chosen to give himself "a good, solid B-plus" on his presidential performance. This leaves me to wonder what the allah a good, solid F might look like. It might be the fact that he disrespects the Oval Office by tossing a football to and fro or putting his feet upon the resolute desk. It might be the fact that on the heels of the Massachusetts (Martha, take note on my spelling, please) election he said, "Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me." His arrogance, you would agree, is astounding. Obama believes he personally can save the liberals in the house and the senate even in the face of his plummeting popularity numbers.

You would think Obama would get the message the American people are sending. However, the message against BIG GOVERNMENT will never be received when you have people as hard headed as Howard Dean who said, "This is not, contrary to what a lot of American pundits are talking about, this is not a revolt of the Right. This is Barack Obama's core base not thinking that we've done what he was asked to do." I can define that kind of reaction, together with Chris Matthews, only in this way: "That's crazy!" Scott Brown promised, time and again, to be the "41st vote" against socialized healthcare, the same policy that the left-wing loons have tried to jam down the American peoples' throat for more than half a century. The left's talking heads would have you believe that the election of Scott Brown was not a referendum, but rather an encouragement package from Barack's loving base.

America Is Not Great

I have long believed the notion that our country and we as a people are great. If you seek proof look only at the things our nation has accomplished! Consider the freedoms and liberties we've provided not just for ourselves, but for the world, one has to assume that there is something special about us. However, this very belief is far from the truth. Americans are just as vile as any other people group. Americans took land that was not their own. Americans enslaved a generation of people for their own selfish purposes. Americans have shown time and again that money can become the thing we most idolize.

This nation's people are not above reproach or condemnation. Americans can fall prey to sin just as easily as any other segment of the human race. Americans are not at all special. Our rise to power and our ability to spread the hope freedom provides was not because we were better. This nation doesn't have a more innate ability to pull itself up by own boot straps than that of any other country.

It is not the people who are special, rather, it is the God we have strived to serve and honor who is. The rise of America as a world power was swift and it could have never been achieved without the aid of the Lord our God. At the birth of our nation our founders for all their flaws injected Godly principle into our form of government. I think Ben Franklin asked the most appropriate question before our founding, "If a sparrow can not fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?" I would answer Ben with a resounding "No!". There is much said about our founding and founders . . . both good and bad. The debate will continue as to who believed what and that is something we may never know. I can only base my beliefs on actions, and when Benjamin Franklin, probably the most jaded of the bunch, refused to do a moments work until prayers had been said, he demonstrated where he held his faith.

However important the founding was to this nation, there are three events in American history that laid the foundation for the country's future greatness. These are "The Great Awakenings," the first of which was a movement that opened the door to common biblical doctrines which taught that all men were equal, that our value as human beings lie in our moral behavior, not the social class in which we were born, and that all men could be saved. These realizations birthed an unstoppable quench for freedom. The second threw those beliefs that birthed a nation back in our face. It created a crisis over the horror of slavery. It ended up giving rise to the abolition movement and the "American Civil War," which ended slavery within this nation. Lastly, the third gave us as the nation the ability to face such circumstances as "The Great Depression" and World War II." What we must acknowledge about these events, the three Great Awakenings, is that they changed the fabric of our society, because the majority of our nation experienced a personal salvation through Jesus Christ, and accepted those biblical principles that led to the aforementioned changes. It is the espousal of Christ that created the society that became capable of achieving great things and ultimately propelled the US into a dominant world power in the 20th century.

God has set up blessings for those nations who seek His guidance. It is said in Proverbs, “A nation without God's guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God's law!” (29:18). I believe we once were a people who sought His blessings in all that we did. In recent days we have fallen away from His blessings because we have fallen away from His laws. Proverbs 28:2 outlines this message, “When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily; but with honest, sensible leaders there is stability.” If you do not see that our nation is rotting morally, then you are blind to the world around you. In recent years blood lust and perversion has run rampant. The standards we once espoused have fallen by the waste side. This nation is in a steady decline and, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us, there is but one thing left for us to do, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Our nation is at death's door. Our economic system is collapsing. Our industries are falling apart. There is but one thing that can save us from an impending judgement, it is the same thing that persuades us to turn away from our fleshly desires and turn towards the face of God--which is salvation.

City Upon A Hill: An American Project

City Upon A Hill: An American Project

America as a nation is creeping towards the steps of tyranny. Its people for to long have become complacent to the political process. Our union is dying while its people sleep. It is time for the American people to awake from our comma of indifference and take back the nation that we were so graciously handed. Our freedoms hang in a balance of good and evil. There are those, though few and far between, who fight for liberty and justice. Unfortunately, there are those who seek to levy their power into forms of tyranny. The war for our independence has yet to be settled. The war for the hearts and minds of the American people has yet to be won. The war still rages day in and day out. The American people will decide upon liberty or tyranny. I, for one, will not sit back and just watch tyranny overtake liberty.

I believe there are a few major problems within our current government that are leading to the collapse of America. I hope that the "City Upon A Hill: An American Project" will act as an action center for all Americans trying to get involved. Hopefully, no matter the political landscape, a new issue will be tackled by a few bright minds each month. This isn't just any action center. You won't be only asked to write letters and make phone calls (though you will). This project is a place where America's problems will be answered. I am gathering a few bloggers from across the web to tackle an issue each month. It isn't only for opining or ripping apart the idiocy of the left but it is to give the American people concrete answers.

City Upon A Hill is not for the pessimists. It is not for those who feel this country is doomed. And it is not for those who believe this country is vile in nature. I believe that America has been blessed by God. I believe our founders, for all of their flaws, sought the wisdom of God, and he smiled upon them. We have done more for the world in spreading freedom and creating wealth than any other nation that has ever existed. Nations are indebted to us because they would be locked in tyranny if we were not here. Yes, we're under attack from within and out. However, if there is a nation capable of reaching out of the darkness of tyranny into the light of liberty, it is us. All the American people need to do is to wake up.

I Need The Following: In the comments below I want a few simple things from you guys. 1) Who do you want to hear from? If there is a blogger you know, big or small, and you would like to see what they have to say let me know who they are and how I can contact them. 2) What topic would you like us to cover? There are a ton of issues facing this country and if there is one particular issue on your mind let me know.

As I suspect many of you will email over comment (as per the usual) here is my email: ericmorris780@aol.com

Merry Baby Jesus Day!

As every Christmas season passes, a round of bullets flows from the ACLU and their liberal ilk. This bothersome bunch comes to seek and destroy the most wonderful time of the year. When you think about what they are attacking, it is kind of sad. These "men of valor" who claim to fight for equality are attacking the values that encourage people to give and think less about what they will get back in return. They are attacking the moral fiber of our nation. There are those who would say that this is hypercritical. Rather, it is far from it.

Christmas itself has had its true meaning stripped by corporations and organizations. The money machine has marketed the allah out of the day that is meant to be spent with family and friends. They have completely twisted the idea of the season. The gifts under Christmas trees, the toys found in our stockings, and the ham we gorge ourselves on should all be an afterthought, not our foremost focus. Our focus should fall on the Lord of lords. The story of the Savior's birth should be told again and again. Our gratefulness to Him for His birth and His sacrifice should be shown throughout the nation twice a year. It should be shown on the days leading to His birth, as well as to his death and resurrection. If Christians acted as if we appreciated His sacrifice as much as we idolize the toys we buy, then this nation could see what Christmas is really all about. It's simple--it's not about the stuff!  We then need to show His love through our actions. It could be donating our money to a charity of choice or giving our time at a local food bank.

Now, back to the attacks of the libtards. America was founded on Biblical principles. It was founded on the moral law that has been laid before us by God. I couldn't care less about being politically correct. I couldn't care less if I offend a Muslim or an atheist. This is our culture, these are the beliefs we hold as a nation. I need not bend my beliefs to make you feel more comfortable. As someone who is joining a culture, it is your job to adapt. If you do not like, please, feel free to leave.

I wish you all, an even more politically incorrect statement,  a very Merry Baby Jesus Day!

We Need Lt. Col. Allen West

Lt. Col. Allen West is from the same bread and butter as Sarah Palin. They are the type of candidates that have lived and loved this country. Sarah and Allen have the natural ability to understand the problems of Americans and arrive at common sense solutions.

The GOP, in years past, has become almost void of candidates like Allen and is encourages and enthuses the base to see more men and women, like Allen and Sarah, coming to the forefront of American politics.

America Should Be Proud

National pride is a powerful tool for any society, for any government.  It can push a country forward or hold it back. If America does not have the ability of pride, the country itself cannot move forward. If we consistently hear from our leaders that American history is shameful, that what we’ve done is nothing more than filth. Why would we be motivated to move that country forward?

Well, if a certain group didn’t want America to advance then they we need to force the American people into a state of self hatred, they would need to make us believe that what we’ve done, the advances we’ve made are one of two things not honorable or not ours. This is exactly what Obama and his elk would have the American people believe, from the day he took the oath of office, he has been either apologizing or denying what we as Americans have done. He has said that it was a group of nations who took out the threat of the Soviet Union, which is crap! America and America alone forced the demise of that “evil empire.” Not a group of nations.

The American history is one filled with greatness and honor. We escaped a nation that would silence our freedom of religion, we not only escaped, but we managed to birth the most powerful nation this world has ever known.  America developed medicines, far beyond that of any other country.  The American space program expanded our understanding of the universe; it also had its practical uses like the GPS. And that is just the beginning; we’ve ended countless wars and have given countless dollars towards those in need. America is the shining city on the hill, thousands flee their countries in search of a better life here and it’s not because of how despicable we are. It is because of our greatness.  I think what America should be most proud of is the fact that we have given others the ability to fight tyranny for the hope of liberty.

Chavez Prepares For War

The Raw Story is reporting that Chavez is preparing not only the people but his military for war with the US and Columbia. This undoubtedly could be an Orwellian exercise in an attempt to control his people to a further extent - but it is something the US should be keeping an eye on.

The leader of the fifth-largest oil exporter in the world is warning his country’s military and citizenry to prepare for war with Colombia and the United States, according to published reports.

Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez issued his warning during a weekly radio address.

“Let’s not waste a day on our main aim: to prepare for war and to help the people prepare for war, because it is everyone’s responsibility,” he reportedly said.

Chavez has repeatedly voiced deep fears of US encroachment in the region.

“Students, revolutionaries, workers, women: all are ready to defend this sacred homeland called Venezuela,” he continued, adding that the best way to “avoid war is to prepare for it”.

My letter to the Church: I want your conscience to bother you

Recently Helen Thomas, as she was pressuring Robert Gibbs about the public option, said, "Because I want your conscience to bother you." I got to thinking and wondered why Christians do not have that same conviction about their beliefs as Helen Thomas does about the Public Option. I think when someone truly believes in a cause, and that cause is a virtuous, extraordinary things will transpire. But for some reason, unknown to me, the Christians just do not care. We have become useless to God. Christians are supposed to be the body of Christ and used for the spreading of His word. But it seems of late that Christians care more about the mundane activities of daily living than they care about doing the work of the Lord. We, sadly, have become passive in our culture. We sit back and let our neighbors drift toward the gates of hell because our focus has moved from the hearts of the hurting to our self-serving endeavors.

76.5% of the American population say they are Christians and even espouse a relationship with Christ. That means there are 224,437,959 Christians in America alone. So I have one question, "Why are you not acting like it?" With this many self-professed Christians on one mass of land why is abortion, the act of murder, even being debated? Why are crimes of rape and incest so prevalent? It is terrifying when a nation as "Christian" as ours cannot even band together and outlaw murder of the unborn, and does not have the moral fiber to condemn that which is evil as evil. There is something desperately wrong about the hearts of Americans. I believe the fault falls heavily upon the shoulders of our ministers. There is obviously a large portion of ministers who care much more about the pews being filled, their wallets being full, and their congregations feeling good, than they do about preaching the word of a Holy God. If our ministers were preaching the Word of God, our nation would fall under conviction of its sin. If our ministers would stand up and perform the task God has anointed them to do, our nation would be transformed, we would see and feel the power of God, real change and real hope would encompass this nation. It is not the hope and change that was bought on the empty promises of one man. Rather, It is the hope and change that was bought with the blood on the Cross of Calvary.

My generation will follow your lead. You can either care about the things of God or the things of man, but know this, and do not take it lightly, my brothers, my generation will follow suit, we will follow to the depths of hell if that is where you lead. Our nation is coming to a day of choosing. We will either settle into our lives of sin or hand this nation back to God, by being the light to a dark and lost world. But we as Christians must stand up. We must condemn faulty man made religion for it is the greatest enemy of God. If our church leaders continue to be motivational speakers instead of the anointed men of God, the church will be responsible for a countless number of people who find themselves in hell. There is nothing to be gained by preaching so that the pews may be full and your wallets thick. If you have been anointed by God it doesn't matter what the people think of you, the only thing that matters is that you are doing the work of the Lord. I say all this because I want your conscience to bother you, I want your conscience to bring you to your knees with guilt when you think of my generation. It is time for the church to arise. It is time for the Church to stand upon Biblical principles. We are living in the days of Elijah and we must stop doing what is popular and start doing what is right.

Glenn Beck blames godlessness for America's problems

As I have always said, Christ alone is the author of freedom, without him, without his guiding hand, our nation will cease being free, socialism will start to creep in, which will be followed by communism, destroying the very thing we hold so dear--freedom. I am glad to see Glen Beck talking about this.
